Finger Lickin' Fork

The second collaboration I've worked on with KFC and Mother London! When they reached out earlier this year with the idea of custom cutlery, I was immediately hooked (and slightly nervous). Having only ever worked on jewellery based projects before, I went straight into researching the ins and outs of cutlery design and manufacturing and quickly realised that we’d need to take a more unconventional approach.

After a lot of back-and-forth designing, we landed on the hand shaped, desert-sized fork seen below, working alongside the quote "The all-new Rice Bowl is a delicious lunchtime product, but it’s obviously more difficult to eat with your fingers. The Finger Lickin’ Fork solves that for our biggest fans."

To ensure durability and detail, we 3D printed five forks in wax and then cast them in two separate parts, soldering them together before giving each one a seamless polish. They were chunky boys, weighing over 70 grams each.

I love them. The fact that I've gone from making signet rings for mates to sculpting hyper-realistic human hands for such an iconic, global brand is incredible. This is by far the coolest project I've worked on to date and hopefully sparks a whole range of new ideas for the future.
